Beefsteak Tomato

A beefsteak tomato is just as it sounds - meaty, large, plump and juicy.  Grown on a vine in well drained soil, under direct sunlight, beefsteak tomatoes are the largest of tomato varieties. Harvested during different stages of ripeness, beefsteak tomatoes are commonly used as sandwich toppings, chopped in salads, or sliced and salted for an easy side dish.
